3、myisdifferentiatedfrom‘selfstudy’withoutguidanceoftheteacheritisacapacitywithwhichalearnercanmanagehisherownlearningprocess.Throughinvolvementinplanningmonitingevaluatingone’sstudylearnershavegreatercontroltakeonmerespon
4、sibilityinmakingdecisionstakinginitiativesinlearning.Empoweringeverystudentwiththisabilityshouldbetheultimategoaloflanguageeducation.Meanwhilewiththecomingof“infmationage’applicationofcomputertechnologyinfeignteachingisb
5、ecomingwiderwider.InChinainthenewlydevised“CollegeEnglishTeachingCurriculumRequirements”(2004)itproposesthat“ThenewmodelshouldbebuiltonmoderninfmationtechnologyparticularlywktechnologysothatEnglishlanguageteachingwillbef
6、reefromtheconstraintsoftimeplacegearedtowardsstudents’individualizedautonomouslearning”.Fromtheabovestatementitnotonlyadvocatesintegrationofcomputertechnologyintolanguagelearningbutalsoadvocatesautonomouslearninginthecon
7、textofcomputerassistance.Theauthofthisthesismaintainsthatteachersshouldseethechancewhatthe“InfmationAge”bringsseekthewaysofusingcomputertoassistautonomouslearning.Thisthesisexpoundsthesignificanceofautonomouslearningfcol
8、legestudents.ittriestoexplewhycomputercanbeusedtoassistautonomouslearninghowtousecomputertoassistautonomouslearning.Italsostudieshowtocultivatelearnerautonomyautonomouslearningability.Inadditionthepaperdemonstratestheped
